Registration for 2026 is now open
The Southern Cats are working to provide an AFL9s competition in Cooma in 2026 depending on the level of interest. Please contact us if you are interested.
More information will be released throughout the year.
AFL Nines is a modified version of AFL. That means tackle-free, highly social, shorter seasons and no coaches or training required! It's a great introduction to AFL for those with zero or limited experience, but is also suited for current or past players looking to keep fit and play footy with mates.
There are typically 9 players on the field per team, with unlimited interchange players. In a mixed league, there is a minimum of 3 players of either gender on the field at all times and anyone 13+ can participate.

We are aiming to hold an 8-10 week (depending on the number of teams) competition starting in the week of the 12th of October 2026.
Snowy Oval in Cooma will host all games.
If you are interested, please let us know. Get your workmates, friends, and family involved!
Runners or footy boots (recommended) and matching colour team shirts. If your team doesn't match, we’ll provide bibs to help differentiate between teams.
If you have 9 people, that's great register a team! If not, contact the competition manager and they will help you find a team.
It usually works out to between $9 to $12.5 per person per game (depending on number of rounds and number of players in the team). Costs can be cheaper if you have more players, but that means less game time!
