Registration for 2025 is now open
The Southern Cats Men's currently play in the AFL Canberra Community 3rd Division Competition. We represent players from Canberra, Queanbeyan, Googong, Michelago, Bredbo, Cooma, Berridale, Jindabyne, and all areas of the Snowy-Monaro region. Games are played on Saturday, with the occasional game scheduled for a Friday night, from early April until the end of August.
The Southern Cats play primarily in Canberra with three (3) or four (4) home games at Snowy Oval in Cooma during the season depending on the fixture. Away games can be played in Canberra and the surrounding region depending on the which teams are in our division.
Games are played at either 12pm or 2pm on Saturdays. Players are expected to arrive at the ground one hour and 15 minutes prior to the start of play to warm up.
Training sessions are held in Canberra and Cooma on Monday and Wednesday nights. The Monday night is a short, light skills session and the Wednesday night is a full length fitness and match simulation session.

All registrations must be completed on PlayHQ and open on the 1st of November for each season (1st November 2024 for the 2025 season).
Registrations are open all year. However, players transferring from other clubs or leagues must do so before the 30th of June.
New players registering receive a discount on their registration fees. An additional is applied for each new player invited by the player. To qualify, the additional new players must pay their fees in full.
All players acknowledge that by registering to play with us you agree to our Regulations, Policies and Procedures.
"Humpi" is a long standing player and volunteer for the club . Originally from South Australia, he played his first games for the Cats in 2012. Since then he has held multiple positions in the club and was awarded Best Clubperson in 2020 due to his outstanding efforts as Vice President in a very tough year. In that year he was instrumental in keeping the club going during the COVID19 pandemic.
In 2024 he took the reins as coach and has guided the Men's team through the challenges of Regional Grade and the transition to Community Division 2. He is respected by the players and ensures that fun and culture are key components of our Men's Football team.
